Beginning a new year...

The first meeting will be September 13 at 12:30 at the Barn. Members will bring a dish for a potluck luncheon. It's a great opportunity to discuss plans for the year, see old friends and make a lot of new ones.
The website will soon get updated to help everyone link to class information and activities.

The "year book" will be published in the next week, and will be sent to members when dues are received. The September newsletter will be mailed in late August. You'll see your dues bill, along with the "Call for Entries" for Final Fridays in the Grotto. We have a new rental schedule for participation in Final Friday. Attendance in the Grotto has been very rewarding, and the space holds a lot of art now that we can use the entire wall down the hallway.

Classes Begin

The first class to be held in the Lindner Wing was Jan Boone's July 9th drawing class. Then Judy Anderson held a 3-day workshop July 15 - 17. Next will be children's art classes on July 19, 26 and August 2. That is funded by Duke Energy, and we are happy to say that about 40 children are enrolled.
Charlie Berger, adjunct professor in UC's DAAP program, has openings in his summer art class for High School Juniors and Seniors who think they want to go to art school. Call Charlie at 513-272-2011.
WACC members, look for a summer newsletter that describes the latest activities and plans for watercolor, oil and other classes and programs, including open studio paint time sponsored by WACC for members.
Bricks for Breast Cancer are now available outside the 'Grotto' and a paint-your-brick day is being scheduled for late August or early September. The deadline for completed bricks is September 26.

The juried exhibit was the inaugural event at the new Woman's Art Club Cultural Center in Mariemont, Ohio. The pictures are from the reception on May 4. Great crowd! 5 pieces were sold, and everyone raved about the show. Thanks to Sara Pearce at the Enquirer for including our show in her blog and the paper.

115th Annual Juried Exhibit

SO MUCH GREAT ART!
The response to this year's call for entries was very enthusiastic. 236 pieces of art were entered, and less than 60 were selected for the 2008 historic show.
PLEASE COME!
This exhibit is open to the public. Show reception is May 4, 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and continues Thursdays-Sundays through May 18.
Come see the show, and get a first look at the renovations still in progress.
